Monday AM-December 22

Hey, here's a question...What would make Robby's computer (at my hands) all of the sudden
cater to the legally blind with a huge page? I was blogging last night at midnight, dragging the cord
across the bed, from Robby, over Kelly, and to me when I must have hit something and now the pages are huge. I reassured Robby it would be fine this morning after we shut it off and it forgot whatever it was I did...well, it hasn't .

We leave for Boise soon. Our goal is on the road by six, but it's 5:44 now. "The biggest snow event in smany years..." the news people, such hyperbole. I just paid my bills (our direct deposit paychecks were there!!!!). Now I am sipping coffee waiting for everyone to get ready and go out and hit the road. We will be eating at grocery stores, so I am anxious for TOP foods, too.

Oh, and remember I said how this trip has shown me wonderful people? My cousin in Morro Bay, California offered up my Uncle Byron's 1984 Cadillac if we need it and can get to it...but our rule is if the city does not have a winter weather warning, we're not going there.

Kelly worries about passing through Nebraska since they have a drop-off -your- unwanted- kid policy, without fear of consequence. After sleeping with her pressed against my back all night, coughing (what I can only describe as black lung) in the back of my head, me clinging to the edge of the bed and what few covers I had, her cranky with her giving up smoking...(one of the conditions of the trip)...we might have to detour to Nebraska. And as for Robby, can I give up a kid that's not technically mine?

That reminds me of one of our Lord of the Flies family vacations a few year back. Bill, Tyler, Kelly Kelly and I went kayaking (again) in the Broken Islands off Vancouver Island. Tyler brought his friend, Bernie. After 3 days of paddling, Bill being upset that I didn't want to paddle ininto open water (we're talking about the Pacific Ocean) to see an island with sea lions, Tyler and Bernie picking on Kelly and breaking our rudder on "the queen Mary" double Kayak...Kelly and I had homicidal thoughts...she said we could spare Bernie if he promised his silence...I do digress. By the way...that was typical of all my vacations up to this point. This is my first stay-in-hotels and cover some distance vacation.

We pray for traveling mercies: love the journey; God is with us; return home safe and sound

But we did have a weather warning, Bobbi....It's threatened to rain! Oh what will we do?
