So, how is the trip preparation going? We have added a day to our journey. I have run into some nay-sayers and dream-wreckers (Don and Tracy, you know who you are) who doubt we can travel over three thousand miles in the winter from Washington State to Florida in 5 days. So we will be leaving on the 22nd. Our first night is now Boise, Idaho. Then, Ogden Utah...
Saturday we are having the "family" Christmas at Tyler and Jessie's. This time, added to the family will be the kids' dad, who we have not spent a Christmas with in 19 years. Hmmmm.
Oh, my traveling shoes I mentioned earlier are a bit of a disappointment. They are made of hemp and recycled tires. They look a bit like converse. I hope they are comfy as they are my shoes of choice for the trip. I told Kelly I wanted velour track suits for my traveling outfit. Since we are spending so much time in the car, I didn't want to wear my pants that act as a tourniquet.
It's just one of the many things that would make me crabby.
Yesterday, Kelly and I met for breakfast between my eye doctor and dentist appointments. We had some personal goals for the trip; she gave me mine: no swearing or yelling at her. Don't hamstring me here. I don't think we made it out of the parkinglot before I broke my rule. I am not sure when my swearing got so bad. Growing up, we would get into trouble for saying shut up or stupid.
